Mel's Drive-In by Nina Prommer
The Mel's drive-in of Hollywood has a most fascinating and colorful history. It is located in the historic Max Factor building, a beauty salon whose client list at one time included Jean Harlow, Bette Davis, and most of the major movie actresses in Hollywood. Mel's now shares the building with the Hollywood History Museum, home of 5,000 Hollywood exhibits and artifacts such as Hannibal Lecter's cell and the sets of Moulin Rouge. It is down the street from the Kodak Theatre, site of the Oscars Ceremony, they serve typical diner food and will valet park your car.
